i am weak

no rob this ones not going to be stripped out for track its a road car for me and my wifey and she wants to attend the odd vw show like we used to do years ago , but im 100% sure it will be flying around cadwell soon :D

when looking around the net i did notice someone selling a safety devices cage and did think about stripping the g reg one to the max and tracking it but i'v been there several times before and know it will never get finished

not really, there is a little bit here and there , all looks ok underneath
looks like someone left a tool or something in engine bay and closed bonnet as its broken the paint a bit , rear end has has all badges removed and rear wiper, no rust around sunroof , hard to explain the condition really , i'v not washed or polished it yet but looks ok

Generally good though?
What about the gearchange?
How crashy is the suspension (and how much of that would you put down to the wheels that you hate?)
How bad is the engine? Smoke all the time? How does it rev? (if you're swapping lumps)

More to the point Trev........is a little bit here and there a little bit here and there or is it falling to bits :)

Just to point out that this is not the car that I am on about in the other thread :D (This may be as well as at this rate, if Trev decides to fix it and sell it ;) )

its not falling to bits, dont know much about the suspension tbh as i'v not proper road tested it , gear change is the usual mk2 golf but do have a brand new set of rods etc..
and no smoke from g reg engine , smoke when pulling away on h reg and tbh i dont know if i can be arsed to swap them , im busy at work at the moment and looking to get one of these on the road asap before i get big ideas and pull them both apart,
would make a good trackcar ;) shame there was not a cheap cadwell day coming up and you still have your trailer as we could have whooped it up there for a proper road test followed by me in the other one

if your interested come and have a look i hate describing cars with typing

H reg one is now on the road all legal last monday and had a right hoot , man you have to rev these 16v's i forgot how my previous ones from years ago were like, so used to boost :)
then my playdays were over due to being hit with bad tonsillitis tuesday 3 days in bed with fever im now on the mend :D
anyway back to the golf , valve stem seals definatly need doing but does not smoke when on the move at whatever revs ;) also looking at different cams as i need to open it up anyway

Glad you're on the mend Trev, and that your enjoying the old school 16v power curve.
I loved my old small bumper 16v, why did I sell it:(
