I'm going to the ring in my car for a four day trip. Am 99% going just in the process of trying to get a passenger to share costs etc
It will be my first time at the ring and my first time driving abroad !
Worked out costs should not cost more than
Leaving 25/06/2010 ring virgin .....
If you think Cadwell was a giggle, you wait until you rock up at the Ring
I hope you enjoy it, sure that you will, just make sure you take it steady, read as much about the rules as you can and if you need any help after you've read the various FAQs, just shout.
Every serious petrol head should go at least once.

You lucky bugger!!
I went last year, and for as long as I live, I'll never forget the emotional high of going through the barrier for the first time, dropping over the brow, and seeing the german tarmac stretching ahead of you. I am genuinely envious. Treat it and others on it with respect, and you'll have a safe, fantastic time.
PS Steak on the stone @ Pistenklaus is a must;)

Good idea. The second time I went out there, Gareth (RX-7 on here) came with me and we shared costs. He drove the GTR too and helped with the drive there and had some cracking laps including a great experience for both of us when he drifted my GTR through Adenaur Forst!! I think it was much more luck than actual skill mate but I'm quite happy to take the glorystuart wrote:including a great experience for both of us when he drifted my GTR through Adenaur Forst!! Flash git

I cant echo enough the comments the other guys have made......take it very carefully !! The costs of hitting the armco will bring tears to your eyes. Its all very well Top Gear publishing times of 10 mins etc but I'd like to actually see them drive over and run there own cars round that track and then drive them back. Just keep looking in your mirrors for bikes and old BMs and Golfs that appear out of nowhere........its good if you have a passenger who can watch the mirror on the left and keep an eye out.
But seriously it is an amazing place and somewhere I would love to go again at some point. You'll have a great time.
Steak on the stone at Pistonklaus and also a monstrous pizza at Pinochios
