PM your email to me and I'll send it to you.
Both parts of the licence are needed. A Snell 2005 standard crash hat is required but you'll probably get away with a good kite marked jobbie.
It's all in the bumph but don't get stressed about anything. I spoke to Phil about it and they seem quite relaxed that all will be OK.

Both parts? Is this a Cadwell rule Gerry as MSV have been fine so far with just the credit card part for every event I've done at Snett (think you've commented on this before)Gerry H wrote: Both parts of the licence are needed.
Maybe James could clarify?
Also the lid.........I thought the regs for trackdays were 'suggested Snell 2005' but not enforcable?
James??

Please! Feel free to have a pop at me but you're shooting the messenger.
I can remember back a few years to when Paul Blamire, of Zen fame, was refused access to Cadwell because he didn't have his paper part of the licence so I ask first.
I read the email about the helmet requirement to MSA rule book section Q (don't take my word for this, just read your email) and thought that those poor feckers who are booked in for this track day but aren't au fait with the Blue Book won't have a clue what it means.
I phoned Phil Royle, more on their behalf than for my benefit (I have a sparkly new Snell 2005 standard helmet sat in a box in the lounge) and he confirmed that was what MSV had sent him by way of final instructions. Last year's lid would be fine (probably) but if there's a real problem, Cadwell will rent appropriate headwear for

Far from shooting the messenger Lord H; more that I wanted to clarify whether I need to panic or not.
Paper part of license? No idea. I remember Paul's predicament from whenever it was.
Snell lid? Fuck no!! I have a pikey spec bike lid that I've used for a few years but it has an Iridium visor so that's OK
I have mailed Heff @ MSV and will see what Golden Balls relays. I'm pretty sure they'll take one look at Betty mk3 and my license and lid will be the last of their worries

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS - It is strongly recommended that a fully pressurised 1.5kg extinguisher meeting with BS4123 be securely fitted within easy reach of the driver.
It's a recommendation only and not strictly necessary for a track day, unless you suspect you may need one

Just do it. If they kick up a fuss, which is unlikely it'll cost a fiver for a DVLA licence check and a tenner for a lid. As for Betty, no hope mate

Edited; ignore me. Gerry knows best because he got an email telling him what to do
I gather from the poor attempt at sarcasm that you don't have the email either? I'll forward it to you to have a gander.

Just as an aside. You'll have ample opportunity to take the pee, on the day, as I shall be sporting the new crash hat (Snell 2005) and Alpinestars 'racing' gloves to ISO whatever it is and possibly the nomex chain mail and pixie boots. All in an effort to familiarise myself with the new sprinthoffenvagen mit der mitsubishenefo schtikkaondergrille (for the BMW drivers amongst you
