They are plastic wings and totaly different from the normal ones. If i bought a new one it would have to be genuine renault (don`t know the cost- this one will repair easy) I realy hate useing the pattern wings on the normal models as they just don`t fit right. I`m a bit sick in that i`d rather repair a broken original:blush5:. You`ill be more than welcome to a rip when its finnish:)

Funny you should mention that- I should be fixing up an evo now, but lost it due to someones proxy bid being placed first. The system told me i was winning but infact we had bid the same odd amount!

Well i have`nt been able to do much on the clio over the last few days as i`d had a rush job on taking this..............
Image
Through this.............
Image
and this...........
Image
To end up with this.........
Image
That should shock a few people:D It was not as bad as it looked, chassis rails/sub frame were fine.
But today i did get a little time to whip the wing off the 182 and start fixing it.
Image
Step 1. get the soldering iron out and melt the cracks back together.
Image
Step 2. Using a stanley knife cut off the excess/raised plastic from the welds
Image
Step 3. using 40 grit paper rough up the surface as a good key on the inside of the wing ready for the glass fibre.
Image
Step 4. Go mad with the glass fibre!:D (after tapeing over the outside of the hole)
Image
Step 5. Get the pastic filler out.
Image
Image
Step 6. This is the most important bit! Time for the polyester coat, Normaly this would be sprayed on (like artex) But as i only had a small piece to do i mixed a small amount up in a pot and brushed it on super thick! This stuff is brilliant, it sands down so easy and provides a total barrier against whats underneath and will not sink back- ever!
Image
I will leave that over night and flat it off tomorrow, then strip the rest of the wing, plastic prep it ready for primer and paint.
I hope some folks might find this of interest as this method could be applied to any form of ABS plastic repair (bumpers etc) I`m not stating this is the correct way to fix it, but it does work with good effect.:)
