ah yes! i remember what i was going to say :D

yesterday at lunch i was tinkering around with the car looking for any dodgy fuses for the stereo, but they were okay :( however... i noticed that there are two missing 80a relays for the front fans (never heard them run only the engine fan) and how about this, the EFI fuse was missing too. so having popped a new one in and went back to work i thought nothing of it until i was driving home :willy_nilly:for starters the engine note has changed considerably, its alot more throatier than before and when you stamp on the pedal i swear it's faster

update:

now that the car is running better than ever with nearly all the minor but neccessary jobs out of the way its time to think of sprint mods. this week the sprint dates, regs and prices have been announced so its time to act fast as round 1 at rockingham is on the 21st of march.

my clutch should arrive anyday now and i'm happy with the quote that eddy has given me so the work will go to him :smash:

so apart from the clutch i just need to buy the following:

bucket seat, would love to have a bride one. but they arent that cheap or wide for my arse :(
part worn toyo proxies or 888's because i cant afford a set of new ones.
rota grid wheels again might have to be second hand although they arent neccessary.

now the only other jobs i can sort without spending money for the sprints are partial weight stripping and a heat sheild for the intake.

I'm pleased that the hard work is paying off Dan. Are you going to modify the rear spoiler for better grip? :D

wow been a long while without an update :o

in roughly two weeks time the MR2 is going in to Eddys for about 6 hours worth of clutch change :) im having a Black Diamond clutch fitted with a 10% harder pressure plate over OEM, and a braided line with new fluids too :smash:

so cant wait really :D and at the moment the car wont pull in 5th because of the slippage :o also the biting point is really high so not long before that wears out. question is, will i make it to Eddys? :driving:

Also another side update. after having said clutch done i will be saving up for a second hand pair of coilovers for the front (either tein or cusco) since my original struts are about to give up too :blush5: but ill keep the standard struts on the back since theyre okay and just buy lowering springs for them :)

Thanks for the plug Dan.

Take it as easy as you can on the clutch as not to overheat your flywheel. It may need a light skim anyway.

On the shocks, putting coilovers on the front and std rears is bound to upset the balance mate. Will you find a decent pair of just front s/h coilovers anyway?

I can discuss better options when i see you.

Sounding like you're getting pretty track focused, are you planning on doing Roackingham round 1 of TSS?

okay cheers for that Eddy, didnt realise that just changing the fronts would cause handling upset. good excuse to save up for a set :D

unfortunatley no, after reading some of the rules and regs ive pulled out of the TSS one of them being the safety aspect of removing the tbar roof when competing which im definatley not chuffed about. so i'm focusing more on getting the MR2 to an acceptable modern handling level and getting more seat time in :smash:

The T-bar thing is a PITA, has lost TSS plenty of entries, i'm sure it's Javelin being a bit over cautions or over interpereting thier insurance clauses. There are competitors who run without the T-bar's in & it's only really an issue IF it rains, but is a major PITA if it does rain!
Great plan to get the seat time, ultimaltey thats what its about; Miles=Smiles

that is so right ^ its not just about the rain. say if i rolled the car. i'd rather have a roof above me (even if it is tempered glass) to stop my arms getting crushed. if they drop that rule, then i may reconsider joining the TSS but for the mean time its a no.

but again you are right, its all miles=smiles from now on :)
