can you not drop it off at john sharpes as he is just outside colchester ? maybe he will be meting up with othe commitee members or whoever its going to.

I did think about that, still a 1 hr trip from mine, and I have a wedding this weekend then it's christmas, and me being stuck ove near Silverstone in the week doesn't leave me much time!
If you're going to the awards night, why not stick the base in the post and take the cup (ensuring you've polished it nicely) to the ceremony where it can all be re-assembled ready for the presentation.
