yeah see thats the only problem i have with the clutch. its down to this;

driveability on the roads vs clutch life

this is where i need to do my research and decide on what to go for. because when yo've got to drop the engine and suspension just to change the clutch, i dont really want to keep doing that on a frequent basis :/ wonder if i could stay with a standard friction plate and buy an uprated pressure plate?

yeah the only reason why i ask about the fire proofs is because im on a major weight loss thing from the doctors so im expected to loose a fair bit before the tss and cant really guess at what size i need, if i need one. so as you say, we'll wait until to 2010 regs come out :smash:

looking forward to seeing you and prolexuk too, should be a laugh

right here we go, ive come up with two clutch kits that are within my budget, as the clutchmasters is really dear just for the plate.

we have, road use exedy;

A standard Exedy should still be a fair upgrade from an OE one Dan. Drag launches are especially hard on cars.....if the clutch doesn't let go, something else will and it may well cost more than a clutch :)

thats what i thought too. i mean ill do some drag runs next year, but nothing like i did this year. its mainly going to be road driving and sprinting with the odd drift and nurburgring. so sod it, ill go for the standard exedy clutch :)

now i need to speak to those apt boys about fitting costs :D

update, after having the car up in the air again (thanks Stu ;) ) i set about replacing the droplinks. and as im sure stu/rob/gerry would testify, were weedy, bent and shagged :banghead: so i was glad to replace them, however i thought it would be a 20 minute job. did one side within 8/10 minutes of the car being up, go over to the other side where i was there or a few hours dismantling and grinding :cuss: so with the leg etc removed i could grind it off properly :D

so with that saga over and done with im happy to report that the new links have made a world of difference especially being back on the ARB medium setting.

and im sure there was somthing else, but forgot. :rofl:

I was impressed by the speed in which you attacked the nearside, but the drivers side certainly brought your average pit stop way over target :)

Not too much swearing, no injuries recorded and no tantrums mate, so you seem to be far better at spannering than I am.

yeah tell me about it, even with persuasion of penetration fluid it still wouldnt budge, but it got the caliper ones undone though :D and yes i was using the deadblow alot when putting it back together. and in a way, not using a spring compressor it was more satisfying putting the leg back on :rofl:

cheers Stu, i honestly thought i was only going to be half hour tops, thanks for having the patience :smash: and there was a minor injury i didnt want to worry you about, know when you said about cutting my arm off? well i kind of caught my finger on the grinding disk... nice little 'v' in my knuckle now :cuss: but hey ho.
