Sprint car for 2010 - suggestions
Yeh, it was Kev@tkl's old one that he sold that got me thinking, his one was probably near as dammit what I would be after I reckon. Seems from my quick look round that 350-390 bhp can be done on a standard engine, so if the handling is up to speed and I can pilot it okay I reckon it could be okay for sprinting, just need to see what the gear ratio's are like, spose Mr Hayward would be able to tell me that info easily enough.
The other option is a Clio 172 with a cage and seats etc. Then it may be in the regs for some lower race series as well as a further option.

Gear ratios are easily found. The S14 manual has a diff ratio of 3.697, gears are...
1st 3.321
2nd 1.902
3rd 1.308
4th 1
5th 0.838
You can lower it easily by getting either a S14 auto diff (3.916), Skyline manual (most 4.111) or Skyline auto (4.363). Both the S14 and RWD sklines use the R200 diff which means you can swap the crown and pinion gear from one to another. I dropped the ratio as I'm using a Z32 gearbox, so I have an S15 hellical pumpkin, with Skyline final drive, S14 casing and skyline cover plate (remove the oil cooler neatly).
Make sense
Feel free to ask any questions
