Sprint car for 2010 - suggestions

Post by blacky »

Okay, like Mike B I very much doubt that I'll be racing in 2010, so looking at going Sprinting again, but in a different car. Thinking that a 2wd car to take on Mike B and the Porkers could be fun!!

So, suggestions please, thinking of about a 5k spend, and it needs to be competitive, not just an also ran!

I have a couple of ideas but keen to see what you chaps come up with.

PS the Zed is not an option, it's too nice to get all stonechipped and wrecked, and I doubt it would be that quick anyway.

PPS Gerry - I'm not buying a MX5!!!

Too big and bulky I reckon.....they are more of a Gran Tourer than something that can be quick to respond to direction changes and balistic corner exiting!

Is that 5K purely for the purchase of the car? What about modifications or is it a 'standard' class you are entering?

Track prepared E36 M3 with big brakes, cage, proper seats etc, lightened shell, coilovers, fire extinguisher fitted, proper exhaust, lightened flywheel and E46 clutch

I could go on

With someone decent behind the wheel, that could be very competitive :)

Been having a scout round, and cars like above seem to be up for nearer 10k Stu.

My initial thoughts are to a S14a 200sx with lots of bits on it already, then just chuck a cage in it and some seats etc.....reckon that could go well??
