Thanks Mike, originally we were going to fit the 24v v6 engine but then we got this new deal which was too good to turn down:)
We are looking for a xr4x4, the ideal car would be
Black
2.0 dohc
1991 on
We will consider any sierra 4x4, but not a sapphire. The most important thing is that the body is rot free.
Thanks.

You fella`s are realy going to have your work cut out trying to find a good shell, They seem to be getting quite rare now?:( I dread to think how many have met their end on the banger track? The crazy old lady that lives next too me, used to have (until just a few weeks ago) a 2.0 4x4 estate sat on her land (stood for 4 years) And she was constantly hasseled by the banger boys until she gave in! I do hope you find one though! Have you any possible cars in the pipeline? As you may know i`ve such a soft spot for these `ol gals:)

ive seen that one before and have thort about it myself didnt know it was back on there as was on ebay not so long ago good find mate.
Russ there are still few good cars out there still its just knowing were to look.
i bought my GT a year ago and the only rust on the car was on rear arch about inch long.
my brother has the ideal car for us its a black 2.0l xr4x4 and very much hoping he sell it to us but still keeping look out for other cars.
Today was the day that herbie was going, I had arranged for the scrap yard to collect the car but herbie wasn't going to go quietly:(. Alan was round early to lower the shell onto some trolleys so that we could move it to the end of my drive. It took us 4 attempts to get the car to the end of the drive as each time we started to push herbie would jump off the trolley.
The scrapman turned up and moved the lifting arm over the car then proceeded to put a chain through the car and connected it to the arm, all good so far. As he went to lift the car the crane stopped, after messing about with it for about 10 mins he got it working again, but as he went to lift the car again the crane stopped. Finally he got the car loaded:(

today ive started on the front part of the side skirt, as the wing had to be extended so has this, work so far
original piece that needs making bigger

making the copy that is required to extend

after setting trimed round the edges to get exact

once piece had set took it off and cut the side skirt
this pic shows how far it has to be extended

more updates later

bit more of a update of the work from today
i attached the piece i cut off the skirt to the extended part and lined, marked it in place

bonded the 2 bits together and filled in the top part to make it stiff and to get the line right when married upto the wing

it looks a bit ruff at the moment but as with the first one i made
with some rubbing down will look good.
