To be honest Russ I hadn`t noticed when it was coming on boost until you drove it mainly because I havn`t really used the car since the last track night. Not much time left before 21st still if the track is cold and wet that may not be a bad thing
Best to leave things as they are until the new year
(Thanks to everyone who has offered advice)

Hope to get some more excuses in the Xmas Crackers or perhaps just raid your old ones

Harry

Your TD05, if it's a 16G or smaller should be spooling 1bar by 3000rpm or thereabouts and keep going till about 5500-6000rpm, thereafter tailing off sharply. Which TD05 is it??

Sounds like what you need is an ESL daughterboard and Live remap. The std ECU has has perfectly good 3D boost mapping and wastegate solenoid control, plus i think you should have a 3-port electronic boost control solenoid as standard on a 95 car. You shouldn't need a manual boost controller of any sort if it's mapped properly.

Thanks for the advice, I guess it is the 16G and is boosting to 1bar at about 3500-4000 then 1.2-1.3 at 5000-5500, there is a piggy-back unit with a vacuum connection to the inlet manifold with a tee connection to the dump valve.

With Christmas just around the corner any re-mapping is going to have to wait unil the new year.

If you are at Snetterton on Saturday perhaps we could have a chat then

3-post boost solenoids appeared on MY99 iirc. Up to MY98 were definitely 2-port

Gerry,
I mapped an MY94 Classic the other week and it had a 3-port as standard. The only thing that was changed in that department was the MAP sensor for a 1.86bar sensor that came off a an MY97 RA. V.2 definately has a 3 port solenoid as standard, not sure about V.1 as i haven't mapped one yet. I'll let you know when i do :D

In 15 years it's just possible that a previous owner could have fiitted a later 3 port solenoid. They sit in the same place as the two port. This is a very popular urban myth upgrade amongst early classic owners.

I always thought the early classics had the 3-port fitted and swapped to 2-port around V.5-6.

Oh well the urban myth had me properly mythed!! Thanks Gerry :D
