I've done proper racing and there is no substitute - go for it guys.

Might do a few local sprints if I can find right car in time for next season.

I'll be sprinting, my car is too heavily modified to go into any race championship and I can't afford another car to go racing in (will still renew my race licence though, incase I get any 'guest drive' opportunities).

See you out there, not sure what championship to do next year though.

Trev - the 'affordable' tintop series have minimum weights, so you just have to work a bit harder at lightening the car!

Mike - pbmw sounds good, is the 318is eligible though?

Don't think I'll be sprinting next year. Heart lies with racing but will be too busy and probably too skint for motorised racing. Instead will do various triathlons, adventure races and probably one marathon.

Andy you are right the 318is is not eligable was given wrong info on car the car in question was actually a 316i that had a immaculate shell no sunroof and no rust.

So thought i would just drop a 1.8 in, but the 1.6 uses different ratios in the box and diff, wiring loom will have to be changed as well so have moved this car on.

The cars have to be 318i single cam or the 320i because what they will do at a meeting they will swap your ecu with another car on the grid. mike
