Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
Just a quickie and easier to add to this post that start a new thread.
Im doing a novice trackday on my motorbike at snetterton on 9th oct and just debating if i want to remove bits like the indicators, mirrors, number plate etc before we go on track. Im going with a mate of mine and have use of a van to transport the bikes to and from the track.
Also would it be a good idea to flush through the brake fluid this weekend just so i know its all good to go as dont think its been done for a year or so as it hadnt been used much prior to me getting it 6months ago but brakes feel good at the minute.
All advice welcomely recieved.

100% agreed with everything you have said Ian. The only thing I would leave on is the mirrors as your awareness on the track will prove invaluable and they can only help.
Definitely change your brake fluid. It's one of those little jobs that will give big peace of mind on the day.
Make sure you've got basic tools, plenty of drinks and snacks and if you can a fold up chair for resting on between sessions. The fatigue you are likely to experience on the track may be a surprise to you. A few of my friends are daft enough to prefer two wheels to four and I've been there when fit blokes virtually fall off of their bikes after the first session!
Best of luck mate. What are you riding? I may see you there

im riding a gsxr600 (srad) and my mates got a zx9r we will be in a white transit with 'a-team' red striping across the side! will take a toolkit etc with me and a couple of foldaway chairs. Ive done a couple of the virgin track nights with yourselves before so will be interesting how the old pulsar (sadly now gone) compares to the bike on the track!!
