Mate I don't mean to be rude or out of order, but I wouldn't fix it, that much damage in a year. The 1st new car I had my dad crashed it, his one and only crash, the 2nd new car I had the then missus crashed it and since i've known Alan he's damaged almost every car i've had. Now it's cheap disposable motoring, that way i don't care if they get damaged and for what it cost to fix cars these days you can just go out and buy another. Hope this doesn't offend:)

I know how you feel Rob nearly every time I come back from sea there is something hanging off the wife's car :( This time it was a mirror smashed off which wasn't her fault.

Right, back on thread, I'm pleased to report the car behaved impeccably after about 40 odd laps at Snetterton......
It's gained some new wheels....
Image

And new brakes after destroying the rears round Norfolks finest track trying to outrun the breakdown truck:)
I chaged the bare metal remains for nice meaty Apec jobbies, and found to my pleasnure, the sight of Boge Turbo gas dampers to greet my eyes. These coupled with the recently fitted Boge uprated springs explain why it handles better than some Mk3's!
I've got the heat shield sorted too.
Only down side is the near side sill, is fooked, proper fooked:(
Nothing metal and welding equipment can't sort out!

Sorry to hear about the sill but glad to hear about the other bits :) If you need any welding done oop North, let me know. Not that I can do it, but I can put the kettle on while people who do know how to weld do just that.

Surprised that the sill is that bad as it went through an MOT in September?

It's got a section about 3 feet long where its bent in and has surface rust. Looks typical of being jacked up wrong or dropping onto something. I'll lob a bottle jack in the boot (as ther's nothing for the scissor to go onto), it's no real drama as long as it does nt rot. Certainly not a problem mate, the car's a credit to you as a former owner.

Apologies to Bart

Sorry for the hijack Rob, but Alan is not happy with my above post were I made reference to him damaging most of my cars. After speaking to him my statement was incorrect and I would like to apologise to Alan for this inaccuracy.

Back on thread......sorry Rob

Cheers Mike, very kind indeed. I'll get it up on the ramps at some point and see if I can get away with it for a bit.

Just a quick question....What thoughts do people have the Remus back box?
It's a big heavy old thing, I've no idea if it does anything for performance (doubtful) but am planning perhaps some head/cam work longer term, and don't want to take it off (It's a bit LARGE for a car of it's power) only to have to replace it with another "sports system".......
