[quote="fezza"]Sounds good to me... a couple of questions/pointers though...
Have you added salt to the RO water? The living creatures/bacteria on the rock wont be too happy if they are just in RO water for too long.
A pair of common clowns or percula clowns would be stunning in that tank. As for the tangs, personally i'd forget them - i have a regal, scopas, yellow and lipstick in mine, and in my opinion even my 700 litres tank is too small for them and is being upgraded to a 2000L tank next year. A purple tang can get to about 6 inches in length and needs looooads of swimming space otherwise it will die very quickly =O( Plus they are about

Cool, if the saltwater is all mixed and up to temperature then you dont have long to wait!
Maybe get a couple of small hermit crabs in a couple of weeks and then if they are ok, fish the week after.
Any of the smaller clowns should be fine, tank bred or not, the wife has a 140L marine tank upstairs (yes, we have 5 fish tanks in total!) and has 2 black perculas and they are stunning. Be aware though, unless you get a pair to start with expect them to fight, its quite normal and is there way of ascertaining who is the dominant fish to become female as they both start as males.
Sounds as though you've thought all this out before you started so top marks for doing that - alot of people just go buy a tank, salt, rock and fish and use tap water then wonder why it all dies in a day =O(
Good luck and if you need any help just give me a shout!
p.s. ill give you a shout when my 700L is up for sale next year ;O) lol!

Wow memories i had a Yellow Tang (surgeon fish) for 9 years, (longer than the wife actually) James i believe i still have quite a lot of tuffa rock prob 2/3 buckets full if any interest to you.
After running a marine tank for several yrs, then done scuba diving and watching these fish in there habitat, i relised how important it is for correct selection of stock, i believe that most clown fish are bread over here now is this so ?

Just thought i would post a little update to my new hobby in the world of Marine Fish..
Talk about addictive, yes its alot more expensive than tropical fish but i find its alot more rewarding and very interesting, and having never done any of this before its exciting in a weird way.
Big thanks especially to James (Fezza) for his almost on call type of assistance with questions and concerns about my first set up
, been really helpful!
So here is a really poor image of my tiny set up, its nothing spectacular at all yet, the more i get used to it and the more ill learn. The long term aim is for a successful set up like James's but for the moment this is great.

Currently have got a few corals, hermit crabs, 2 x Clown Fish and 1 x Damsel. Hopefully over the next few months it will gradually turn into a small full of life mini reef.

Thought i would ressurect this thread
Thought i would update a little bit about my other hobby away from cars
Mainly for Fezza to look at aswell though
... My little tank has now become the quarentine tank for new arrivals and before christmas i purchased a much larger tank.. Still not to James's (fezza) standards but its a start..
Just over a thousand pounds later, 10 weeks of stress and patience, im left with this..
In the centre of the lounge, im really pleased with the way its coming along, and its suprisingly relaxing to look at, will take a good few months to be thriving with life!!
Lots of space for growth, and the fish are roughly all the same size and age so should grow well together. Chuffed i managed to find a nice small Regal Tang (aka Dori from Finding Nemo)
5 x Marble Turbo Snails
1 x Shrimp
2 x Percula Clowns
1 x Tomato Clown
1 x Regal Tang
2 x Scooter Blenny
2 x Large Hermit Crabs
1 x (Half Pink/Half Yellow One)

Well..... what a transformation!! Absolutely stunning. Loving the aquascaping too
The corals look superb and i love the trumphet coral top left. Great fish choices, you should see plenty of activity in the tank with that lot and it'll be great for you to watch them grow. Obviously the regal tang will take a long while to outgrow the tank so you've chosen wisely with your purchase of a tiny one! My only concern would be the tomato clown - he will get HUGE and quite aggressive but again, that will take a while.
Your cleaner shrimp looks lovely, i don't know why but every one i have ever seen is never happy unless they are hanging upside down
A real credit to you James. Whats next on the purchase list then?
