Well done for stopping and helping, there is no right or wrong way to deal with that sort of situation and you'll find that your natural instinct would have taken over anyway, in my opinion.

Don't beat yourself up at least you stopped.

Fingers crossed the injured party recovers quickly and they find the girl unhurt.
