Having read up today some more on these what Gerry say's sounds about right with respect to spoolup etc... the std headers i've got in the garage with a standard uppipe both ported will promote earlier/quicker spool up as the GT Spec Gen II headers i've got on at the moment have a much larger ID on the pipework therefore slower velocity gases and not as good for spool.
I really want good midrange to top end, not so bothered about super early spoolup but the way this turbo is set up at the moment spoolup is super slow so i'll just have to have a play in the week. At the moment once it does kick in it boosts really strong compared to my VF35 and pulls like a train all the way to the redline and well beyond if i raise the limiter i've no doubt.
Eureka moment!!

I've just thought of something else too.....i had to put a couple of spacers on the actuator bracket to stop the actuator case hitting the injector bracket/bar that bolts onto the block. I think that's what is causing the issue, and as Gerry said....is the wategate fully closing....right now i think not!!
Looks like i'll have to get the grinder out or adjust the wastegate rod right up....If i adjust the wastegate rod and it cures the issue i'll set it back to where it was and do some grinding. I love it when a plan comes together!!

Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!
Waiting now for another execution date!!:headhack:
