Sorry to hear about your troubles Dan. Don't throw in the towel just yet get out there and keep searching. You must be able to get a better quote than that. Hope things work out so that you can keep your car.

Morning daniel. Get in contact with the insurance ombudsman & begin a complaint procedure. Sally did this in regards to her accident 5 months ago as tesco had just been pi55ing her about all this while. She called the ombudsman on monday of this week and the car went into the body shop on wednesday morning !!!!!! Dont bother with ' watchdog ' as to many people say that & insurance companys dont worrie about it.

Cheers. Matt.

Gerry H wrote:Have you tried confused.com and do you have any recourse to their agency for recommending this off-shore insurer. Presumably they get a cut of the premium or advertising fees or some sort of fee so maybe that makes them an agency and therefore responsible. Threaten them with watchdog.

Watchdog? May be worth contacting them. Insurance ombudsman? OFT? Trading Standards?

Not receiving your proof of NCB isn't a valid excuse as insurers exchange info between each other. They tell you this in recorded messages whilst keeping you hanging on the phone. If they exchange info for exposing fraudulent claims, they could and can easily exchange a simple NCB confirmation.

Don't give up Dan.

Keith Michaels (ask for Gary Moulson). Have you tried the Co-op insurance? How about Liv-Vic?

we're now going through the building societys fraud department and they have now issused me a new card to stop them from taking more money. lastnight me and dad did think about contacting watchdog to moan about confused.com and ecar/southern rock, and we will do after our holiday (starts tomorrow) also funny you mention ombudsman, the insurance woman yesterday said we should contact them too, again i think we might just do that.

insurance wise, i had to take out insurance yesterday at the insurance brokers in town because i need my car for the holiday, so ive had to swallow the high premium for now till a fortnights time.

thanks for sugesting Keith Michaels, ive left my details with them and now waiting a reply, so cheers gerry :)

If you need Garys Direct No to get a quote then drop me a PM Daniel.

You might find they take a while to get back to you on the normal number but he's pretty good if you phone him direct.
