We are still in for snetterton as the new build is not going to be rushed. We want to try and do all the things that we never did on this one. Plus we can't start anything until after the last round of TA as I don't have enough room on my drive for another car.

Stu. I expect your guess will be partially right.

oooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhh, gotta love a Cossie!
Well done for keeping the blue oval alive.
All that extra welly and less weight should make it go like brown smelly stuff off a digging implement.
Can't wait to see it!

rob we are true blue:willy_nilly:
we are still going to use the xr4x4 shell for this new project for many reasons
1. wider rear track
2. has a better weight disrabution than the sapphire
3. weighs less than a sapphire
4. 5dr shell is more aero dynamic has less terbulance at the rear

i have come up with a total insaine body kit for the car that really wont look out of place, this will give it a more huncured down look.

the standerd car weighs just over 1300kg and there is going to be alot of lightning of the car that should gives a very good power to weight ratio;)

The first time that we even considered going down this route was at Forf Fair August 2nd this year. We then made some general enquiries to our new sponsor who was on the Fast Ford mag stand, much to his delight as he has been trying to get us to go the cossie route for the last 3 years:banghead:.

The saturday after the august meet and auto-test we had a 07.30hrs meeting with a new sponsor to discuss everything:confused:. 3 hours later job done.
The pressure / fun won't really start until Ford Fair next year, when we will have to run the car in the same group as all the other Ford Tuners......:boxing_smiley:

Herbie will be taking a well deserved rest for about 18 months.

The plan there is within 2 weeks of the final round of TA for the car to be completely stripped, even the glass will be coming out. Then the shell will be scrapped. We will be keeping the engine and drive train as the plan is for the car to come back out in 2011 with a reshell and rebuild.

This will be a hobby project and Bart has an idea for the engine rebuild. Everyone says it won't work but Alan (Bart) thinks it could, but then again everyone said you can't fit 2.9 pistons in a 2.8 . Funny that we've got 2.9 pistons in our 2.8
