Goodbye Golf

Post by Stuart »

The two litre sixteen valve mk3 goes today and is replaced by a two point three five cylinder turbo. A welcome return to boost will also bring about a downside of increased fuel use. Oh well, I guess my recent decision to dump my forty five mile commute will help compensate for low teens high boost moments :)

There will be no secrets about what the car is, although the description above should have told you enough already. My third Volvo T-5, my first one with a manual gearbox. Smashing cars to own and really use. Getting old, ugly and bloody useful. Similarities with the owner on a postcard please.

Now, the important question;

Satin black or army green?

Not a lot
as and when I can be bothered I do a bit more painting. I've dechromed the other side and I have the back of the car to paint. It needs a new passenger side front wing.

I still have no idea what I'm going to use it for.

Saw your post on Facebook mate.
T5s are great cars with a cavernous boot !!
But they are ugly !!

Knowing you though it wont stay bland looking for long !!!
Look forward to a good writeup mate, have we seen any shots of this yet ?

It's my Brothers old car Gareth, so the car has been 'posted' a couple of times. I can't afford anything silly and see no point in spending money on this one when the track car is the priority.

Good on yer sir. T-5 is a great car and can be lots of fun. I like the fact that the chavvy boys think they will not be troubled by a "VOLVO" :D only to be completely embaressed by it. :driving:
I may be getting older but I REFUSE to grow up :D

I have the paint sorted. Work starts this week :)

So far so good Rob. Still getting used to that hardcore clutch.....pressing that pedal down is harder than any car I've owned!

Too much time in the office mate, "man up"!
Big lad like you should find it easy.........actually I think I'll quit there as it is a bit on the heavy side.

What boost is it running? I take it the 304 in RICA 304 doesn't refer to the power as that feels more like 250 top whack. Not moaning, just like to know what's what :)

It really needs a decat and bigger exhaust........here we go again.
