What's in a name

Post by pablo »

What's in a name?

Our new sponsor / tuner support is someone that we have known and used since we first built the car.

Details of the new engine are still to be kept on the down low as this will not be an overnight build.

Anyway, the name of the tuner has always been a point of disussion for us and we know that he his actually looking into the name. So what do people think.

This is only a first draft by Bart.

The only thing (beyond the spelling of motorsport) that I can think of is that those within Motorsport may look at the idea of 'street racing' and think it's a bit boy racerish. What sort of work do these guys do though? Is it largely road cars? Engine swaps? Trackday prep?

My take on sponsorship is that if they are paying enough I'd run the car with anything on it. If they are paying a lot less, I'd be a lot fussier what they have on the car. Street racers is OK but it sounds like a quick response taxi firm to me ;)

Does he want to buy the Purespeed brand? :D

He does a lot of engine builds / swaps and has done a few track cars. He has had a few cars featured in various mags and one of his recent cars (Track specific) belongs to the editor of a car mag, although on that car his name appeared as S R M C. Which may be how it will appear on our car.
It won't be that big on the car and will probably switch places with our logo. It's a catch 22 the better we do the bigger it get's;)

Personally, it rings a little of Fords old "race on Sunday, sell on Monday"
I'd love to see the livery stuffing a few of the motorsport elite!
Good luck to you with it.

'Center' is the U.S. corruption of Centre.

The bonnet logo is better as, when reading the sponsor name, you get to the big cat's head rather than it's ar$e.

Rear wing looks dodgy and you forgot a steering wheel but that may be being a bit picky :D

Good luck whatever it's called :cheers2:

Better than try and get it on to the track for practice, fluff qualifying and push it back on to the trailer on Sunday only for it to sit unloved on the same trailer until next race day. That seems to be my way of doing it (in sprint terms)
