I've had this car for just over a week now and it appears to suffer from the notorious RX8, or is it all rotary, starting issues, that I'd been reading about on the RX8 forum. The guy I bought it from told me it would need a new starter.

nice one Gerry ;) what sort of mpg does it return as a friend of mine has just bought one for his wife and recons it is only returning low 20s (miles) to the gallon , is this more of a lead foot do you think or are they generally thirsty:driving:

I had a quick nose around the car last night and I'd agree with Jason's thoughts; nice one indeed :)

I think the interior quality and design is fantastic and such a delight after so many boring cabins. The central spine that runs through the car is genius to look at and no doubt functional too.

Looking forward to a ride out in it Gerry!

They seem to have a reputation for being thirsty but it's unlikely to see much regular use as we've kept the Escort for a hack. I was going to calculate the mpg after Liz's trip but by the time I'd enjoyed the drive to Snett, I think the average may have dropped a little :) Low 20s sounds about right. Once I've swapped the bits and it's hopefully running OK, I'll do an mpg check.

You should have said that you wanted a ride Stu. Any excuse :)

Cubby holes and cup holders galore in the tranny tunnel and a removeable centre, in the rear seats for my skis. What else could anyone want

I've always loved RX8s and the colour you chose Gerry is one of my faves (white on the new model RX8 being the other).

Thing is even though the engine is a 1.3 capacity its still the equivalent of a 2.6l car so petrol should be thought of the same as that I think.

Its a great car with a superbly setup shell, just a shame they didnt turbo it.
