Retro show (Santa Pod)

Post by steveVR6 »

Yesterday I went to Santa Pod with the Golf to the Retro Show.

Travelled down Saturday and camped over ready for an early start Sunday.

That was the plan, but a few beers that night meant we started abit later :?

After bacon and eggs for breakfast, I had a quick walk round to see what was about

The rain stopped early and the sun came out just in time for the action on the strip to begin

A couple of sub 9 seconds cars

Really liked this

Then came my turn, drawn up against a mates G60 Corrado

Don't think I'd win any prizes for the quickest run of the day, but suprised myself against the Corrado

I ran too, had lots of traction problems and a misfire, still managed a 15.3 ET though.

That silver Honda Civic was indecently quick, very impressive indeed.

Did you leave before the accident?

You lucky bugger! I saw Steve when he was on the way down there and it was all I could do to resist the temptation to skive off work and join him :)

Gary's RX7 looks pretty bloody hardcore but the biggest surprise is seeing Ant Fleming's white FD3. I am amazed he still has that......thought he'd sold it on years ago.

Thanks for the update Steve; I'm glad you kicked the 'Rado's arse :)

I love that Land Rover, the Cortina's not too bad either!

Looks like a great day, I'll probably put that in my diary for next year.
