Allowing Gaz coilovers as fitted to the MX5 race Mk1's might be sensible, although those cars are stripped and something like 960kg min inc driver. Not sure how much heavier your road legal cars will be. Cage is already developed for the Mk1 racecars too.
Why not form a subgroup of the MX5 (or MR2) race series instead? :-D :-D

New Sprint Idea for 2010 on a budget

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
Sadly, no. It's just not practical for me to have 2 fun cars at the moment. If I didn't have the scoob then I would be keen, especially if the same car could morph into an MX5 race-series car at some point, say, after a season of sprinting (to do that, it'd have to be a 1.6 not 1.8 though). After a year of part-time tweaking, I've got the scoob close to the shape I want it to be in (fun on backroads, capable on track and hopfully Nurburgring) so I want to spend another year or more enjoying it now.Gerry H wrote:So are you putting your name down Andy?

intersting idea Gerry, i don't think i'll be involved though, but i do hope it a success
Don't even know if i'm going to renew my MSA liscence next year beacsue they have totally F*$%ed up the 2010 sprint regs:
My 2 yr old pristine Class A helmet will become useless, i will need a Class A/F lid, exaclty the same but with a fireproof lining....beacsue we get alot of cars on fire at sprints
Sprint competitors will be required to wear nomex gloves.
B1 tyres will be permitted in Roadgoing classes.
So it's going to cost a load of cash simply to "keep up" next year & frankly after the B5 thing for 2009, all this stuff for 2010 i think the MSA need to find out their reg changes have driven everyone out of sprinting.
