The concept is spot on as the feeling is B5s days could be numbered as the cost of running the cars in this class increases and people look for a more cost effective way of competing.

For me it would have to be rear wheel drive I would also suggest that all driver aids are switched off when competing as it provides a better skill test,

Brilliant idea though Gerry. And i totaly agree with the concept, but getting everyone to agree on one make will be hard work! - my vote would go on a clio 172! - well thats the plan :-D

You lot will never agree so long as there's a hole.......well you know the rest.

You were asked for opinions and ideas. There's limited room for personal preferences as the marque and model have been decided on. Nostalgia has nothing to do with it and if anyone wants a trip down memory lane, do it in your own time or thread.

Do you have the balls to stick your neck out in a one marque/model challenge next year or not? Please yourselves.

MX5s are rear wheel drive and the only driver aid is a feckin' servo.

tell me to sling my hook if i am talking crap :-D

Jason, sling your hook, you're talking crap :-D

Nice idea but you're only allowed to double drive a car.

Sounds like a great idea 8) . Our plans for next year are already made, but if this gets off the ground we'll be there in 2011  Can't so no to a bit of friendly competition....if there's such a thing.

I think this is a great idea. MX5s are superb cars !! But yeah finding a certain car that everyone agrees with is going to be impossible !!!

The JDM version has an LSD and the UK doesnt I seem to remember reading ?

There are plenty of places that do cheap parts for them too.

After seeing the MX5 championship at Snetterton last year and seeing 20-30 out on track at the same time mixed in with the Nippon cars it looked fantastic fun !

I feel the open face helmet, biplane style goggles, leather driving gloves and a white scarf should be optional though :D
