I knew Lord H would respond in style - it was just a question of how quickly...

The Mika Goodwood Masterclass is available for just the price of a bacon buttie - but I realise at Lord March's prices that is a big dent in the motorsport budget. Same offer applies at Debden - I'll even supply the Brompton folder

In a week's time the Evo will be transformed from an 8 titles in two seasons sprint and hillclimb warrior in to a... Skoda! With 200bhp...

The Evo was always a third car and now, having been credit crunched, but not flattened, its needs to be a first car and an Evo ain't it. I might be tempted out but realistically it would more likely be in a classic 'toy' if all my freelance plans work out. Alternatively I keep coming up with ways of winning B4 - I can't think why. VXR8 looks good but then I am sure we will soon be hearing of the unfair advantage of front engines over rear. After all a GT3 RS was beaten by a Beemer coupe at Lydden recently so the seeds have been sown...

To be fair I was never going to compete in the Evo this year as to stay competitive I had to mess with what was always a standard car sending costs spiralling and resale in to free fall. It was simply time to move on, a decision made easier by the class changes. Glad those have worked so well...

Can't really take the pee out of Skoda, certainly since the VW influence and even the old school race versions were bloody good.

You're not wrong about the Goodwood snack bar prices. Full advantage was taken of the paddock monopoly. If you come to Debden, I'll stand you a Smiffy's bacon bun

Besides, I could be in B3 myself by then.

Dunno. I've gone through almost every possibility within budget.

BTW that should have read B4, I think although I do like s2000s
