stupid brake disc question

Post by Ian200sx »

when running rotor's and bells is there a general disc set up ie the bell sits on the out side face of the rotor so the veins are behind the bell?

this seems wrong to me but i can't work out another way to fit them :(

The bell goes on the outside and the rotor slots should be pointing towards the front of the car to throw pad gases and debris outwards. In your pic the bell is bolted on the wrong side and the rotor slots are pointing the wrong way.

be very careful when mounting rotors /discs as its the INTERNAL veins that are the important part NOT the surface grooves/drillings..................(a lot of manufacutrers have differing design purposes for the grovves and can face either way)

when looking at the top of the rotor side on the veins should curve backwards (some discs have straight raidl veins in which case the disc is not handed)
