Come on Pike. You're a proper racer and your car's more like Tomcat's than mine or Duncan's. Any pearls on sorting pressures in the real world?

Gerry yoko parada's at the mo as still havent been able to find any spare rims. Surface:- horrible tarmac of varying sorts. temp if its like last month hot.

In terms of grip I want it on the exit of the tight bends as thats where I was struggling to get the power back down (thats probably more to do with my shoddy lines and coming in to quickly to the corner) and dont mind losing a bit of straightline speed if I can get more grip in and out of the corners as ive enough power for the limited straights on the course.

Think the dccd guys have a big advantage over the non dccd guys as it did seem they were able to drift the back end round a lot of the corners where as the rest of us understeered towards the opposite side of the corners.

My dccd classic (64:36 rear:front split) is more tail happy than the 2 non-dccd (50:50) classics I had before it and, yes, it will tighten the line nicely with the power.

With careful setup tho, you can make the non-dccd car handle well with alignment and ARBs. First thing to say though is that all of them will understeer if corner entry is too high.

Think you said you had standardish struts on the car, but what ARBs do you have? With firmish coilovers I used to run a 22mm adjustable rear bar and standard 19mm front. With rear bar on hardest setting it was was good in the dry but tail-happy in the wet. Fairly simple to adjust it to softer (longer) setting for the wet. Do you have Zak's alignment on that car, and how long since it was done?

Beyond that get some track time with it. Does scoobysprint give you extra runs at end of the day for practice?

Dunc Im sure it isnt too :-D . Ive got some practice after my runs and also im going to the next loughborough car club sprint at bramcote barracks so.

THe underbraces go on tomorrow and im trying to get a set of BC-coilovers ( i know that kw v3's etc are better) but they will do for me in terms of they will allow camber etc to be adjusted and will be far better than what ive got now. Still got to get hold of max for some instruction just havent had the time.

Yes it is Zaks fast road setup on the car but its been while. I'll let you all know how I get on etc

Are you doing anything to the car before Sunday other than adding the extra weight of underbraces??

If you can, get it aligned, bet this is out if not been doen for a while, and get a fast road/prodrive setting, this wil help with understeer.

If you can't do anything re set-up try keeping the tyres to the recommended pressures with perhaps a bit more in the rears, this may help slighty with the understeer

Do you have uprated ARB on the rear?? If so get it wound up a bit if its adjustable, this will transform the car.

Lastly - have fun!!! :D :D

Opinions, opinions.

None of us know 5% of what Alan Meaker knows. Ring or email him for advice or just get opinions from well informed keyboard jockies on here.

Your choice.
