OK, I'll start and await the flames

Well the new teams are only possible with the budget cap.

From a personal perspective, I think F1 should be what it's portrayed and sold as. The ultimae motor racing series. No budget limit, no anything limit and no pit stops, unless for running repairs, punctures (but then only the two wheels on that axle), damaged nose cone replacement, etc.

No restriction on down-force aids, 1.3L forced induction or 2.5L n/a. No KERS. No Bernie Ecclestone, No Max Mosley.

That way, what's developed would more readily translate to road car developement which is the (tongue in cheek) excuse for that level of sporting decadence in the first place.

Oh, one other criterion. The British GP MUST be held at Silverstone :x

Well said Gerry :-D ... as far as im concerned.. F1 is the racing series for the elite.

No caps, no limits, its where the top teams fight it out to prove who is the best, always has been.

By doing what they are intending goes against everything F1 stands for. If you want a series that is capped, has limits etc on spending, testing and so on go for F2/F3/WSR the list goes on.

I could rant for hours about this, if i get a few minuites later on i probably will!

got to agree with both those, id add a maximum amount of fuel per race, which decreased every year, then you could wave your "green" flag too.

Cant imagine any new team thats not already got a car in development (like USF1 and possibly prodrive) being able to get ready for 2010 anyway.

Agreed. How can it be the pinacle of motorsport if they cannot test the boundries of what is possible. I know there must be rules but before you know it they will all have to use the same chassis etc like the lower formula do.

Let them get on with it and see what they can come up with. Give us, the supporters something to watch.
