Just been offered a 2.5l V6 24v mondeo on an m reg.

My question is ..........would this be any good for track use?

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of such a machine and it's abilities.

160 something bhp as a minimum, quite toquey and a nice road set up. Never driven one in anger on the track but they make a cheap car to run and certainly cheap to prepare for circuit use. Just don't expect something super fast in a straight line

they are a very good car that pulls well its has alot of low down grunt because of the quad valves.
as stu says its got 160 - 170 bhp.
but in its favour it is a light car compared to nower days about 1350kgs
arodynaicly this model follows the old principles of the sierra it replaced
cutting thru the air smoothley.

i would be more inclined to get the st24 its got about 180bhp

Same prinsible as me with the Vectra, if its cheap enough its worth a go and a bit of fun, with not a lot of money to loose,
And as Stuart said easily enough to lighten it, I should know the rear seats weighed a bloody ton when I took them out. :x

Leather seat set sold on would probably pay for the complete car - go for it.

Strip it down and it will go a treat - they were supposed to be well sorted handling wise.

Well surprise surprise, I brought it home with me

It goes really well. The engine is a bit tappy but I am sure that can be sorted. Apart from that and a crack across the screen, and of course the odd little bit of rust, it is really tidy.

4 good tyres, newish brake pads, Oil and filter recently changed.

I ended up paying
