Lets see where we are at for the next round of TA.

Hotel booked
Trailer booked

The full team of TNT Racing going which includes our race day mechanic. The car has been all set up a last minute problem with one of the tappetts has been sorted by fitting a spare set of push rods to replace the worn ones which was causing the tappetts to go tight on No. 5. Just an engine oil change and also change the rear diff oil and we're ready to roll

THEN.......On my way to work tonight in the tow vehicle there was a grinding noise coming from the n/s/f wheel followed by a severe pulling to the left as I approached a set of traffic lights. As I went to pull off the the n/s/f wheel locked up in the middle of a busy junction I have left skid marks on the road of about 20 metres in length as I dragged and fought it's sorry ass across the junction with tyre sqealing like a pig.
Alan came over to see if we could get it moving, not a chance seized solid, the discs look a bit worn but no scratch marks and the RAC bloke thinks it might be wheel bearing  . Still..... got 2 days to get it fixed as I have to collect the trailer on Friday.

That's going to tow like a bastard!! Surely that will tow better with the engine over the front of the tow hitch?

The very best of luck guys. Please send me a text to let me know how you're getting on :)

Cheers mate will do  . As long as we keep the speed down it tows better this way round due to the weight of the engine. If we put it on the other way the steering becomes too light.

personally you'd be better off loading it forwards and pulling the car back on the trailer slightly to get the nose weight correct..........
if it starts to snake in that format your toast

lol - yup - i comented on the trailor in another thread. Interesting!

Water Jets - Why re-invent the wheel. Look for prebuilt solutions. Impreza/GT4 etc. Use their jets/systems!

I have a pressure activated switch I was going to use to 'fire' ours. Havent got round to fitting it yet though. Its adjustable so prob have it 'turning on' at 1.4bar + :)

Jesus christ, you do all that work on your car, and then you put it all at risk by putting on the trailer like that. As said above, you have a fishtale with that and you are toast.

I have a friend who was stopped by the police with a trailer loaded that way, 45mph on motorway was all he could do, without it fish tailing. The police made him take the car off, turn it round and load it nose first, and they actually helped him adjust the car on the trailer to get the balance right.

Until that day, he refused to listen to me about towing. He now appreciates the benefit and safety of towing it the right way round!

Moving the car on the trailer backwards or forwards by a mere 1 inch can make a huge difference.

If the steering goes light with engine at nose of trailer, roll it back a bit, its simple.

Sorry for rant, its my pet ate, people who dont load a trailer properly
