I know your Spanish Francis. There's a different colloquial term for you though

Anyway. Duncan, you can have your thread back

Snetterton showed three main things to sort prior to round 1:

1 - brakes needed to be better

2 - I had an oil surge problem

3 - the rear tyres rubbed on the arches

Therefore I need to solve them.

I am putting the ksport brakes on thursday along with the modifications to allow more rear camber. ( this should clear the wheels of the arches as only need 3 mm)

We will set up the alignment at Zen but I am taking to get a full 3D laser alignment done in the next week or so.

The Oil Surge (temporary) solution should be with me next week so that I can fit that and also wrap exhaust headers/uppipe and sort out a slight leak on the up-pipe that has been costing power for ages  I will also change the engine mounts while the engine is lifted.

Other bits:

The passenger seat has now been replaced with the Imola S kevlar jobbie and bolted to the floor so sits nice and low and has saved a ton of weight.

The walbro lifter pump has been replaced as a precautionary measure and while it was out it was a good time to check how the std rubber fuel hose to the hyperflow in tank swirl pot (now removed) has coped with being immersed in E85 - absolutely fine and no sign of hardening.

Today was the day to take off my old brembos and to fit the new brakes.

The kits consisted of:

* 8 pot front calipers with 356mm discs and Performance Friction 01 Race pads
* 6 pot rear calipers with 330mm discs and Performance Friction 01 Race Pads

A superb day at day at Zen fitting them myself but with adult supervision on shimming the calipers to match the disc offsets and the end result is pretty amazing. Very impressed with just how sharp they are even on cold brakes, I can't wait to get some heat in them on track :D

Did you follow the Stoptech methods for bedding them in? I read it all and it looked pretty involved but very thorough. They look really good on.
Nice one :thumb:

Thanks.

PF 01 pads are pre-bedded so dont need any bedding in. Plus the discs had been run with the pads already.

As Snetterton showed the need for additional oil surge protection - Mark @ Lateral Performance came to the rescue with a properly baffled and superbly built twin scroll baffled sump to replace the std item fitted to my car.

Looks a proper piece of kit !!

I am going to fit this along with the Cosworth Baffle plate that I already have fitted to give added protection from surge and blow by.

Cheers Mark

That looks like a lovely piece of kit.

Hope it works.
