Numberplate is worth 400-500 quid so I've been told.

Can't break it Gerry....no way. Someone will have it. Just going to take time. And I wouldn't say I'm pouring cash at the car, most people get a decent car tidied up and valeted when selling. As everything else is pretty much new anyways!!
