Funny, you know. I went primarily to watch the Nippon stuff and once again came away, full of beans about the classic Jags.

I met Gareth around 10am having missed the Nippon qualifying so we wandered around a packed infield with MR2's and Impreza's rubbing shoulders with XJS' and XJ40's that looked like they'd been racing for the last 15 years!

It was a terrific mix of cars and one race even managed to get Caterhams, DC5 Integras and the muscle car Jags all out there at once. Needless to say the sight we all enjoyed standing by the back straight was superb. The Gulf coloured XJS was hammering down the straight at somewhere around 130 from guesswork and trying to thread its way through a field of DC5's and hot hatch style stuff whilst itself getting pecked at by the gaggle of Caterhams that had got out dragged on the straight, only to catch the big fella under braking! And this was all on the entrance to the Esses. Carnage

It was lovely to properly meet Dan, great to catch with my man Booker and Lord Ogle was superb company as always. For the record, I think that must be the third time that Dan Booker and I have mused about getting an XJ40 shaped XJR between us and going racing ourselves.

One day mate, one day.

Dont worry Trev I have about 400 myself that I will sort through and post !! A lot of them are crap though, I have come to conclusion I need a tripod !!!And No they are not 400 shots of RX7s !!!!!!!

Here's a few highlights I found so far, more will probably come but I'll try not to duplicate what Dan has done :

Stu and I had a good laugh at this in a clever idea sort of way:
Image

The Caterham racing was a tad dull 2nd race, I was standing by Russell chicane and nip to the toilet. Not 5 secs later once in did I hear screeching of tyres and thought....bugger. Came out and a Caterham had hit the tyre was almost exactly where I was standing (tyre was was a good 5 feet in front of barriers so ok from a safety point) !!!

Chap was carried out into the ambulance, car was a write off !!

Then to top it off in the final Nippon race Max retired as his car had blown a tip

But all in all a great day, good to see Stu and Dan again, good to meet Daniel (sorry I wasnt chatty, new camera was keeping me busy.....so sorry about that) and Snetterton food fed us as well as usual !!!
