I just can't understand why the marshalls continued to let him out on track. I was parked next to him on the pit lane and heard one of the marshalls warn him, and that was at the start of the day :?

You did well not bump into the t1t in the Caterham, i know i would have said far stronger words in car, and to his face.
I had a tw*t like that at Oulton last year on the test day before time attack in my very first session. He made the mistake of boasting that "the time attack" car was holding him up! At this point i had only done 3 whole laps of Oulton (full circuit), excluding the 3 sighting laps (where Tom Ferrier drove).
When i went out again and happened to let him past on cool lap, where he came very close to clipping the front of my car (no need to). I later caught him up under braking into the hairpin, and he must of sh1t himself seeing my car out brake him, and then stick like glue through the hairpin, right to the next chicane (where i had to apply part throttle rather than full), out of the next chicane up over the crest and down to the next chicane, he wouldnt move off line.
This went on for 2 laps, and in the end i snapped and pushed past on the 2nd corner after the start finish line, where it meant he had to be on the right for the best line. I braked on the left and held line. Within the next lap, i had put a good 10+ seconds between him and me.
I then returned to pits, and gave him a cursey smile, when i heard him say to a friend of his, "f11ck that things quick, even on the corners"
I expected a bollocking for my actions, but didnt get one. Although the "caterham" crew were told in the drivers briefings that "some of the tin pots here today, WILL be quicker than you on the bends as well, so move over quickly"

I wouldn't say that it's common of all Caterfield drivers; just like all other car owners there are good and bad, considerate and not.
I suppose egos can get in the way of a good clean lap........maybe if there was a rule where you could belt people off the track, that would help (I'm joking if any TDO's read this

I apologise in advance for the 2nd rant of the night
But i'm still intrigued to know why the marshall's let the guy continue to act this way all day? Is it because of the credit crunch and the organisers are too scared to uphold the saftey briefing for fear of certain drivers/clubs etc not attending again or is this how all trackdays are? If so, then whats the point of the saftey brief? Liability insurance?
I really enjoyed the on track etiquette displayed by 99.9% of the drivers and felt proud to be involved with the day as a whole. But why let some tit spoil it for the others? It seems to me that if you want to drive like a complete twat, you are given carte blanche to do so and the rules mean nothing. Sunday was one of the best days out i've had in a long long time, really superb. Shame it was tarnished by the above.
