Afternoon all. Does anybody know how much of a job it is to get to the heater matrix on a 32GTR as i think mine has sprung a leak. Is it a dash out job or can you get to it easily. Just dont want to start a job and then find out its going to be major interior surgery . Also is it a bad idea to loop the hoses that run through the bulk head for the heater so that i can still use the car as its my daily drive. Any help would be great.
Cheers. Matt.
Water leak
Dash out job Matt and from experience of doing this a few times, it's a fairly time consuming job (3 hours?) Not sure about looping hoses but I can't see it being a lot worse than water dripping behind the dash where you have electrics everywhere. That question may be worth referring to a grown up

Usually no problem bypassing the matrix, stay away from rad weld type stuff as its spread everywhere and can easily block/seal important water ways.

Nope, water flows through it continously when you adjust the control a flap would open directing air passed the matrix.RX7 wrote:I had to change this on my car, what a bugger of a job !!!!
I might be naive and say isnt it only used when you have the heater on hot ? If you turn the heater off it shouldnt use the matrix ?
