Every time I look at that photo, Ben's relaxed pose cracks me up. Talk about a man personified
There is a wide and varied entry into that HC. Just battered old Renaults don't make very good footage
I have remembered that Practical Performance Car wrote an article about this guy and his French Hill Climb experience, the same chap I am still searching for...........does anyone subscribe?

Not sure about the "tardis" in the background of the BP pic :?
Jim (my dad) has done a hillclimb in France before now although....i think the french run regs that make cage & fire extenguisher as mandatory.....
I really like the approach that most of the rest of Europe employes; We want to have a motorsport event here, so were closing this road& if you live here you can join in, or go away for the weekend
I'll see what Jim can remember about how he was invitesd/where it was etc & report back.

i've just read some info regarding some hillclimbs in France in 2009 that are apparently open to a number of British entrants:
La Pommeraye is situated between Nantes and Angers and at 250km from St Malo is the furthest away. The 2.5km course run up through a vin yard which produces the well-known Anjou wines. The middle section of this course is famous throughout France for it

Waiting for the 2009 regs for the Isle of Man, 3 events in 3 days:
