Newage STI topmount intercooler.

Post by Jon »

After being thoroughly messed about by some f***ing eejit on Scoobynet today :x (he sold the same item to me and someone else and expected us to both send him cheques!)
I really need the IC within 10 days at the latest.
Cheers

I kind of figured that with only running circa 300bhp, It wouldn't be necessary. But feel free to convince me otherwise  I don't have a huge understanding of IC's.

if you only talking a few quid to upgrade to front mount then it will be much better instead of engine heating cooler

Silly question Gary, but will Jon lose any boost pressure from fitting a fmic? Or is it just a case of mapping it to counteract this i.e. raising the boost slightly?
James is looking for the next trackday...

Yes, that makes perfect sense.

Jon - Harvey is your man, top bloke, and Hybrid FMIC is the product. See group buys section of SN. Apparently much more efficient than the old Autobahn 88. Probably easier to fit than a newage TMIC, due to the amount of fabrication reqd to make the latter work properly on a classic. You do need to ditch the std airbox if you go FMIC tho.

My car was only about 300bhp too, but you only have to fit a charge temp gauge to see how out of control things are with the std STi TMIC.

My Hybrid was fitted a few weeks ago by Harvey and I'll be along on Weds if you want to look and chat.

Thanks Andy, I may be along on weds to have a chat and a look see. Although as a newb, some of the posts made about possible initiation practices scare me a little :( Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with lube, BUT sandpaper :o No way.
I was kind of hoping someone would post saying that they have a STI IC for
