Good fun day out
Mr Blackmores Impreza was looking a going very very well! Congrats on the win!
Gerry didn't have the best of days. Trev had a good run out in his new beast which looked well nice!
I had a decent day, managed to kiss a couple of cones on the 1st timed run.
B19 MC Shakedown Sprint 1st March - RAF Honnington
Had a good day to day nice to see everyone today, The circuit was bloody fast. my first run was a bit of a culture shock the start went straight to a sweeping left hander to a tight left which i arrived at when i pushed the brake it went to the floor. so a quick pump to stop so was a bit worried what was going to happen on the next straight where i saw the speedo pass 125 but when i hit the brakes they where sort of there. so back to the paddock, all wheels off and bleed the system still dont feel great. then while doing this the water pipe to the turbo split so repaired that. the next run went with out to much drama apart from a huge drift coming out of the right hander onto the straight. my first time run was perfect no dramas no real probs with the brakes.the surface was very good but if you went off line the little gravel stones where a night mere they have removed the paint from the side of the car and chipped the lacquer of the wheels. the next run was ok but the oil breather hose from the block decided to melt a hole in it by resting on the turbo. so repaired that, on the last run the oil catch over flow decided to seperate it self from the car. and in looking under the car saw that the rear inner drive shaft boot had come off and put grease everywhere.so cleaned it all off a refitted. logan evo was running faultless as ever the car always loks unfaised would like to see how hard hes working inside. trevs pulsar was looking and sounding very sweat which also ran with no probs. Gerry on the other hand had some bad handling problems with a few spins, and on removing his tyres the reinforceing was showing and some strange wear pattens.mike shearing ran well was no probs bringing his times down every run till he hit a the 92 second mark and could not improve. But the best bit was i won overall which was nice considering the repairs every time. all the best mike

Fill in vehicle....yeh right Trev
bet the Golf takes a while longer to do now!
I had a good day, only new addition to my car was a deep dished Momo rally steering wheel which made more of a difference than I thought. It meant I could sit in a more reclined position that I like and also made the car feel easier to control. Car was feeling good and strong
Was good pushing the car to and beyond the limits again after a few months of not driving it. Was chuffed to be 4th fastest (real time) after Mike and 2 single seaters. Had a slight coming together with the marker cones when i outbraked myself from 120ish mph into a tight 2nd 90 right near the finish. This managed to dislodge the plastic brake duct thingy under the bumper but luckily the clips were all in tack so after 10 mins the car was back to as good as new.
What today did show up was that I am defo in need of some better suspension, I think I can gain a good bit more time from the car being stiffer and and having less roll etc Just have to hope someone buys the Impreza soon so i can get some bought!

Yeah! OK! Very funny!
I've just been sitting back watching you two prattling on about how wonderful you are and what an easy win.
Good to see everyone yesterday.
Honington was interesting and can be highly recommended if you're looking to shot blast your paintwork for the 'peppered' look. Everyone appeared to enjoy a good day's motorsport with the usual banter and no unpleasant mishaps, other than the odd cone and marker board fatality
Instead of the usual class system it was run on power/weight handicap which put Mike and me in with a couple of Jedis, a Van Diemen and a Westfield Megabusa. Trev's little GTiR had a bunch of Porches to deal with, which it did very well. Just to illustrate how fair the system was, I had a greater handicap than Mike Perhaps it was calculated on age/experience or more probably good looks As it was, on the road, Mike was some 7.5 seconds quicker than me and Logan, almost 3 secs quicker. So no change there.
Final results with handicap:
FTD Mike Blackmore
6th Logan
14th Trev.
19th Moi
26th Mike S
Interestingly I've been looking at P:W and taking Trev's fairly standard Pulsar @ 227bhp:1220kgs against Brian S' GT3RS 415bhp:1375kgs(before the lip spoiler fell off). Trev's is 189/ton Brian's 307/ton. Trev's handicap was 96.26% Brian's 95.18% Trev beat Brian, on the road by 2.41secs. Brian beat Trev on handicap by 0.45 secs. Does 4wd make up greater than 118bhp/ton?
Congratulations everyone. As for me, I'm thinking about going oval racing. My car has a reasonable amount of power but can't get round corners very well, particularly left handers. So where can I find an anti clockwise oval?

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
Gerry, have you had your geometery checked lately?? Seems weird your having these issues. What setting is your rear ARB on?? Maybe worth softening it off a bit, also, what setting were you running the DCCD on? YOu should wind the centre diff up a fair bit and try that if you weren't already?
I'm a tad dubious about the handicap system as well but it was a good laugh and I enjoyed the speed of the course.
