Didn't realise you missed your instruction slot Jon :o

I can deff say it was the best thing I did that day, I went out for 1 session on my own 1st and then had my instruction as my 2nd session, and as Nik said above, I was surprised how little of the cars capability I was originally using

Try not to make the same mistake next time Jon, it's deff worth it 8) (plus it's expensive to buy it and not use it  )

Micared wrote:I'm embarrassed (very) to say that i booked tuition in advance, but got so carried away with wanting to chase Fezza around the track that i totally forgot about it and ultimately missed a great opportunity to learn a lot for little money, a mistake I won't make again. To put things in perspective, there was a guy piloting a Pug 106 who was a million times quicker than me despite having an obvious power disadvantage! I'm all for throwing cash at the car (after all that's what the government are saying, spend, spend, spend) But I'm guessing an investment in driver training would be money far better spent. A sentiment that seems to be echoed on here for good reason.
That 106 had some real skill!! :o

Im now dreaming about Snetterton, ARBs, Springs, bigger injectors... the list goes on... and on...

Round 2 coming soon Jon :D I reckon we will have new competition once Ady gets his injectors fitted and remapped.

No disrespect to the guys that MSV employ for their coaches but they pale in comparison to the professional instructors like Maxx, Ben Devlin etc. The other major difference is that the MSV trackday coaches want you to be safe over and above all things. Maxx and Ben want you to go as fast as possible whilst maintaining safety. There is a very big difference :)

Driver training may not seem sexy but there is nothing more satisfying than out driving your mates with a supposedly slower car.

I am not professional James. Far from it :)

I can probably give you some pointers and if that is good enough, fine. But of you really want to go fast, you should pay someone professional to accelerate your learning.

I have plenty of people I can put you in contact with. In fact I'll try to get some names and numbers together for a separate post.

Cool, thanks Stuart, im only just getting into it (all Jons fault!) so just a few pointers would be very good for me.

Once im happy with the car and the way it handles/stops ill be shelling out for a pro i reckon... ill have to to try to keep up with everyone else

p.s. you may not be a pro, but you can certainly drive a RWD M3 around Snetterton fast enough! :o

That would be really useful Stuart, sounds like a very worthwhile investment
