New engine build...now running!

Post by blacky »

Right, getting majorly fooked off.

New engine is in, tried cranking it to get oil pressure, nothing, all plugs are out, crank sensor off etc.

So then, have taken off the oil pressure sender, poured oil down there, waited 30 mins, got girlfriend to crank the engine, with me watching for oil to say stop....nothing, not a jot....

Confused and annoyed, last engine was fine when I installed it, a couple of mins cranking and pressure.

Could it be the oil pump was installed dry and not primed??? I would hope not.

Any other ideas to get pressure?

Yours, a cold and annoyed

Logan

No, I put more oil down the gallery whilst cranking the engine the wromg way round to try and draw oil into the pump, it worked :!:

Then started it to 7.5-8 bar pressure :D

Scooby burble is back.....hmmmm, now what do I do :? :? :?

Logan i think if you do that you ll confuse the already confused even more. The thing is the impreza will give all the noise and roughness where the evo does the same job but with less fuss. With the impreza with the way its speced you can run in b5 or d8 with out spending any more money. Best of luck with the decison [keep the impreza] Ithink we should set up a vote link for you. mike

Yes, your probably right!!

Yup, it could run in both classes, would need more poke tho to keep up with you  which means, turbo, injectors, manifold etc.

It makes sense to keep because of the cage and engine spec etc but then I kinda have had enough of it....but starting it today readlly makde me smile and its looked proper cool outside :!:
