97 Primera GT - Next project begins......

Post by Rob S »

After my tribulations with the Scooby (  ) I ve cut my losses and replaced it with a 1997 Primera GT. It's allegedly got 150BHP, but I think the near on race exhaust system and the car not being tuned or mapped since it's been fitted has meant that a few horses are on holiday! Plus it is SO BLOODY LOUD, it's beyond a joke. It's way louder than Stuarts M3. I'll be tootling off to get some help quietening it down!
I aim to turn it into a strong, reliable car capable of trips to Tracks, the 'Ring and the real test, not breaking down in Harlow like the subaru did :o

It's done 93K from new, has a full service history and has had lots spent on it recently.

I spend the next few days de-chaving it, as it currently has a chrome drag racer style gear knob, and small neons inside the foot wells!
Not sure about the stripes either!!

Looks nice and clean Rob. De-chav away sir ;).

As far as the exhaust goes, I hear that Fast Eddy is a dab hand at sorting exhausts out. Custom fabrication etc. :D
I may be getting older but I REFUSE to grow up :D

Shame about the Scooby but needs must
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!

Sold as is to a mate as a project.
He's got more time and money than I have, so good luck to him.
Do miss the torque though

Onwards and upward Rob, looks like you have got a clean tidy car there.

Look forward to seeing the project move forward.

Thanks guys,
I've managed to get the car up in the air and found that the 3" system has only one silencer in it, and it's tiny!
It's also bolted directly to the cars floor at the rear, no wonder it resonates!!
I've found a firm three miles from me that can sort it out, which is about as far as I can travel without my ears bleeding at the moment
Once this is done, I investigate the cars braking and handling a little more.
(It's also loosening up a little with use :D )
