One for the Subaru boys about decats

Post by Rob S »

Gents,
I am looking at getting a centre section replaced with a decat section. (My car is a 99 UK Turbo) Will this cause any ECU issues, dash lights or running shennanigans I should be aware of before I spend my hard earned?
I am undecided, but if it's hassle free mauy well do it.
Thanks in advance and happy new year
Rob

Decat centre shouldn't do any harm.

Probably worth going straight into a 3" just for future proofing

Bloody hell Gerry, that was quick!
Thanks, I've got Dr Greenthumb's old stainless 3" back box already, so I'll keep an eye out for a sensible centre to go with it.
Again thanks!

No probs Rob.

Insomnia is your friend :D

Actually, it's Liz's birthday tomorrow and I've had to wait for her to clear off to bed so I could wrap her pressies.

A good memory is also your friend

What do you do come MOT time? Bolt the old stuff back on???? I was going to keep one at least for the mot.
And going too far down the modded route will make the insurance interesting......
