 You know that makes sense :)

Looks like a lovely car. The best shape in the best colour. Nice.

The question still stands of what have I actually got there? I've read wikipedia and sniffed on SN and other forums but I can't find out the details on how the STi differs from the other models. I've heard "tougher internals" and bigger intercoolers, but internet facts are not exactly reliable.
Does anyone have any info or pointers to the info?

Not sure about definitive spec but...

Bigger intercooler isn't worth much. You can get away with it for sprinting (by putting ice on it) but for more sustained track work you need a front mount,

http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/SidcFaq/SidcFaq

Forged pistons, 8K rev limit, red inlet manifold, single cat, better cam profile, STi badges, larger intercooler, Ali bonnet, cast alloy bottom wishbones, ball jointed front droplinks, uprated ARBs, uprated brakes (depending on MY) and other uprated bits.

The SIDC faq is a good source of info. Note the details of your vin plate, something like GC8F4ED which is: Impreza; Sedan; 2.0L turbo; MY99; 4 door; STi; Manual.
