A bit of a wet weekend but still managed to get a few jobs done.

1. Bonnet has been lightened

2. Drivers seat has been lowered by about 2 inches

3. Oil cooler re fitted in new position to improve engine cooling

The bonnet should be fine. I cut a lot more out of the DD than that and it only ever kinked at the front when vmaxed at Honington last year.

Good work fellas

Will the 24v heads fit in your engine bay?

looks like a better exhaust should be on your shopping list -looks pretty restrictive

The 24v heads won't fit and you're right about the manifolds being restrictive as is the whole air intake system. It is fairly easy to get a tubular manifold made up for the offside bank but the promlem is getting one made for nearside bank due to the turbo installation. Alan (Co owner) is currently looking into the air intake system and if we are able to improve this then we will look further into tubular manifolds. People do run a tubulsr manifold on the offside bank only but those are not dedicated track cars.

The main problem that we have is that there is very little information available about tuning these engines and only a handful of tuners / engine builders with any experience in them, and i've not found anything upto date. There is also a hell of a lot of contradicting information.

Mare, I have spoken to BurtonPower several times as well as many others. The problem is I need facts not opinions. When I am after peoples opinions or thoughts I ask on here as the guts on here are actively doing what we are doing.

What works on a road car may not be suitable for a dedicated track car, we had a pronlem that never once showed itself on th eroad but would be a major problem on track day and as such no one could pin point it.
I regulary speak to Mike at Ferriday infact had an e.mail from him yesterday an dthere even areas that he can't help us with.
