could it be something like coilpacks ?
it drives lovely otherwise

Unlikely to be the coilpack. Yours has the all in one coil on top of the manifold rather than the individual ones at each plug that are prone to cracking.

You could try starting it in the dark and seeing if there's any tracking at the HT lead runs, if you suspect ignition.

Could be worth checking the plug connectors are not loose. Maybe even whip :) the plugs out and see if there's an odd looking one.

I have the inverted ones too, but with 5/4 for a bit more of a compromise on the road.
