Cheers Buddy

I presumed that was the case with the engine but it always nice when someone confirms what you think might be right :)

Engine out time

Post by pablo »

Yesterday we dropped the heads off to be coverted to run on unleaded fuel and for a bit of porting / machining :) The guy doing them, after looking at them said that he had seen worse..........not much..but he had seen worse. He said that he was actually surprised that we had not snapped the exhaust valves due to the amount of valve seat resession and the fact that the exhaust valves are made from 2 differet metals fused together :o .

Plan for today was for Alan and Wayne (Alan's brother) to start getting things ready to get the engine out as we were or so i thought collecting an engine hoist and stand tomorrow........The Tolley brothers had other ideas the engine was coming out today. I like things done in a certain way using the normal methods this has caused many an arguenent in team TNT.... The boys had hatched a plan knowing that I would be out for about an hour and by the time I got back the engine was out :o

We have found so many problems and faults with the engine so far and we still haven't stripped the block yet :( . The good news is that with all the faults the engine never failed and after 2 years of abuse so far there seems to be no real damage done to any key parts

2009 will be about FUN FUN and more FUN :-D

How heavy

Post by pablo »

We've always known that our engine was made out of old ship anchors but we decided to find out how heavy certain parts are :o

So Alan decided to weigh the heads :o :o
