Yes,
In my experience the fitting of free flow filters do make a difference on these, but as has been said there must be a good cold air feed and a heat shield.
I am a Pipercross & K&N dealer so can either supply one of their kits of use one of their filters and do you a bespoke kit.

ah a bespoke kit sounds good

it'll be an after christmas purchase but if you have a price now i'd be interested to know so i can save the pennies
