Rubbish?????????

How can you say that? Previously they looked as though they'd been liberally coated with Superglue and then sprinkled with off cuts from the factory waste bin.

Nice clean lines for 09 :thumb:

Roll on ground effect and turbos :D

If that means that 'clean air' is less important for grip, so they get closer and start overtaking each other, then it's gotta be good.

What is it about the F3 formula, for example, or even formula ford, that makes for close exciting racing?

Each to there own I suppose. Maybe I'm a tad biased in my position. Just be interesting to see how this effects the racing next year.

Sideways, the Suaber is the closest looking car to what teh 09 cars will look like other are just running mule cars with bits a bobs for next year. Notice the big scoop on teh sidepod of the Ferrari, this is for cololing their KERS system.

Andy, F3 etc is closer racing as there is far less aerodyamic downforce on teh cars, thus the air behind the cars isn't as "dirty" so they can race closer to each other whereas in F1 the cars can't physically do this as they are so aero effecient that if the car isn't in "clean" air they they loose so much performance that they will fall back anyway.

The new rules for 09 are meant to fix this......

Presumably also, F3 drivers are hungry and hoping to be spotted by an F1 team.

I have to agree. Granted, the new regs are to promote overtaking (which I'm all for :-D ), but the radically different wings are going to take some getting used-to.

It's like the Teams are raiding various parts bins from other racing series- the proportions look all wrong. :?
