Driving a fast Jap import is like coming out of the closet, you might surprise some people, but in the end you are still gay.

Neatly located Ballasts....... and crackled washer bottle in the 2nd pic

New boot inner panel made from aluminium

Modified rear door cards

Image

Image

and it may not seem much but the little clips on top of the headlights were in a bad way. He's left them in a tank of solution of some sort and they are now like new although will be getting a dusting of hammerite asap

Image

Plans now are to re locate the HUD so it sits higher as the steering wheel protrudes alot of it, and also spray the door cards black.
Im also in 2 minds about replacing the fuel cell with another unbodged one and not having the rear window fuel cap.

Right a small update.

Image

Last week I removed all the inner door cards that my brother had made for me to respray. I turned the greenhouse into a mini spray booth which ended up being shit with dripping condensation.
Still I soldiered on with a light coat nearly every day last week after drying them off to get my desired finish.
Today I managed to squeeze myself into the back of my car to refit them, anyone that knows me knows Im not exactly small and the gap I managed to squeeze into, Im beginning to wonder if I should join a circus :S

I managed to squeeze through the lower hole of the cage to sit where the rear bench should be with my head and one arm through the upper part of the cage

Image

Anyway, the aluminium door cards now fitted after lots of swearing and bruised ribs

Image

Image

The HUD after being mounted on a small arm so its now visible whilst driving without ducking to look over the steering wheel or stretching to look over it.

Image

And one from further away so I can be an attention whore with my Defi's

Image

So after lots of messing about this morning and a photoshoot looming, I thought I best get the car washed. I hate washing my car at the best of times so the local Kosavan car cleaning outfit at my closest Homebase was given the job. They have cleaned my Fiesta ST in the past and for 6 quid, they dont do a bad job.

The only problem now is, its dirty again from the drive home as I cant seem to drive the bloody thing slowly :(

The car went to Emerald today and it had its highs and lows. Im losing compression through my piston rings, Im not losing oil and the car isnt smoking yet so I only managed 176.6 bhp but my god, the car is now like a rocket. I do have some video footage, it isnt very good though, was too busy holding the ear defenders to my head, noise stood that close to the car is insane.
Anyway, the plan is to now replace the rings and probably the pistons as well and go from there.
Oh and it cost me over 50 quid to get there and less than 10 to get back so hopefully my fueling issues are now sorted and I can make it to some meets/shows :)
